- The Osteria della Pergola in Tavernelle,
Anghiari, lies in the heart of the Sovara valley, nestled
in the cyprus trees and woods of Tuscany.
-
- There used to be an inn just a few hundred metres
from the Ponte dei Confini (the old bridge on the boundary),
a place where brave travellers and pilgrims stopping
to pay the tool to the noble family of Montauto could
lunch and sup.
-
- The Osteria della Pergola rises from the ancient
ashes of open fires where meats were roasted to quell
the appetites of travellers from long ago.
-
- The tagliolini all’anatra (fresh pasta with duck)
have a traditional flavour. The meats come from local
farms where the animals have been hand-reared on proper
feeds such as grain, corn and oats.
